THE PROTAGONIST OF JOURNEY
The Sunflowers European Tour is a 6,000-kilometer bicycle trip promoted by the Utopia 2000 Social Cooperative under the guidance of its President, Massimiliano Porcelli. A veteran of the Third Sector, with over twenty years of cooperation experience. His deep knowledge of the sector, combined with strong leadership, has made him a reference figure in the Italian non-profit scene. Under his direction and teamwork with its members, Utopia 2000 has grown significantly, offering a wide range of services to individuals and becoming a model of excellence in the fields of social assistance, culture, tourism, events and training. Massimiliano, has created the Sunflowers European Tour, the European version of the Girasoli Tour. This project, the result of his creativity and his ability to innovate, demonstrates how he is always projected towards the future, seeking new ways to respond to the needs of a constantly evolving society.
THE COOPERATIVE: UTOPIA 2000
UTOPIA 2000 is a type A and B Social Cooperative that was founded in 1999. The cooperative originates from an experience of integrated work, with the aim of creating new employment opportunities in local territories. The foundations of the cooperative are based on an ambitious attempt to promote, incentivize and implement "virtuous" paths of civil economy in order to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life and minimum levels of socio-educational assistance. Over the course of 24 years of activity, Utopia 2000 has expanded and diversified its activities effectively, adapting to the changes in the social and cultural context of the territories in which it operates. Currently, the cooperative deals with various areas, including: Educational services for children and adolescents; Residential services for minors and children with parents; Agriculture and social tourism; Editorial services; Services for professional training; Organization of sports and cultural events. Utopia 2000 originated in the province of Latina, but over time it has expanded its activity to different regions of Italy, mainly in Lazio and Umbria. The cooperative collaborates with numerous public bodies in various Italian provinces, demonstrating a wide range of involvement and a significant presence in the social and educational sector.
